Add New Item to Send To Menu

When you right-click a file name or a thumbnail in Microsoft Windows XP, you see a shortcut menu for that file. One of the items on the menu is Send To, which enables you to quickly e-mail a file, copy it to your desktop, or copy it to a floppy disk.

Sometimes what you really want to do is to save a copy of the file to a specific folder on your computer. If you have a folder where you frequently place files, you can add that folder’s name to the list of locations on the Send To menu. For example, you could create a My Pictures folder and then use the Send To menu to copy your best pictures to that folder.

Virus Explained

What is the definition of computer virus exactly? Well, a computer virus is a program, a block of executable codes, which attach itself to, overwrite or otherwise replace another program in order to reproduce itself without a knowledge of a PC user.

There are many different types of computer virus: Boot sector virus, file virus, direct action virus, Multi partition virus, Polymorphic virus, Stealth virus, and Macro virus.

1. Boot sector Virus

This type of virus is a common virus; duplicate itself by oppressing the boot sector. So that when the computer is booting, the virus will be automatically executed in the computer’s memory.

2. File Virus

Attacking files which are executed by an operating system. Usually this kind of virus attack file that have .com or .exe extension.

3. Direct action Virus

This kind of virus will enter the computer’s memory to execute other files, and then execute the other program in order to deceive the user.

4. Multi partition Virus

This type of virus is the combination between boot sector virus and file virus.

5. Polymorphic Virus

A kind of virus which is designed to deceive AV program, by changing its structure, after executing some command.

6. Stealth Virus

Controlling DOS level instructions by controlling the interrupt table.

7. Macro Virus

Written in a programming language from an application, so that virus has platform independent characteristic.

The difference between Computer Virus and other Computer program

1. The ability to get some important information from the user’s computer.

Virus is designed to infect many files or programs. For example, virus will infect all .txt or . htt files, so that virus will look for information about the existing files or program. After they done it, those important information will be hidden in other directories in order to deceive the user.

2. The ability to check program or file

When a virus is infecting a file, virus should be able to check whether a file has infected or not.

3. The ability duplicating itself

This is the first ability which has to be had by a computer virus.

4. Ability to manipulate

This ability is used to show messages, picture, deleting files, stealing files or data, etc.

5. The ability to hide itself

All of the virus’s activity must be invisible either for the user and for computer.

The structure of Virus:

1. The virus identity code

Every single virus has a unique identity that no other virus has. For example, virus A has X identity, and virus B has Y identity, so those virus is recognized by antivirus from the unique identity.

2. Virus Duplicating Code

A program can’t be mentioned as a computer virus if it can’t duplicate itself. So this is one of the main structures of computer virus.

3. Protection and defend code

This code is needed by virus to deceive antivirus program. It can be done in many ways: encrypting the virus file, invisible the virus’s process on computer, or showing a redirecting message to prevent the user to open the antivirus program.

4. Manipulating code

The function of this code is to delete files, execute certain applications in order to steal or send data to an e-mail.

Because of the extraordinary development of computer technology, the variant of computer virus is going to be a huge in amount. Therefore, protect your PC with the latest antivirus and keep it update periodically, and not to send malicious data to your lovely computer.

::. Screenshot

image

The first thing you have to do with Shell Tools after you installed it in your computer is to open Shell Tools control panel to enable some functionality you want to add.

These are 5 shell extension modules:

  1. Copy Filename and Filenote – Copy filenames of selected items to the clipboard and allows you to add comments to files by creating text file that has the same name as selected file and opening it for editing in text editor (Notepad or another). If such text file already exists, it will be opened for editing.
  2. Show Hidden Files command in folder background menu. This is a quick way to toggle global Windows Explorer’s Show Hidden Files option, that is otherwise buried deep inside folder options window.
  3. FontLoader – Add Load/Unload/Install/Uninstall commands to context menu of font files (TrueType, OpenType and TrueType Collections supported). Windows Vista UAC is supported.
  4. CopyURL – Copy different information from one or more selected favorites items (internet shortcuts) to the clipboard. You can customize the commands to make up your own copy strings.
  5. RegisterServer – Will add Register Server and Unregister Server commands to context menu of DLL, OCX and EXE files that export DllLoadLibrary and DllUnloadLibrary functions, allowing you to register/unregister COM servers with ease, by right-clicking.

Drastically Speed Up Any Computer In 5 Steps

I have been working on computers for years and have put together a simple 5 step process for speeding up pretty much any windows based computer in just a matter of minutes.

These procedures are perfectly safe and will not harm your computer or cause you to lose any data.

Step 1: Cleanup your hard drive. This is number one for a reason folks. So many people just do not cleanup their hard drive and that can really degrade your pc performance. You can goto My Computer, Drive C, Properties, and then click on disk cleanup. You can also download the freeware utility Ccleaner. This free program will cleanup all kinds of useless junk off your pc.

Step 2: Remove unnecessary bells and whistles by disabling some of the visual effects that comes on by default in windows. This will recover a lot of lost resources for running faster instead of making pretty edges around unused icons that you never look at and such.

How to Disable Unneeded Visual Effects:
(Removes the visual effects, and increases computer performance)

1. Click your “Start” button to access the start menu
2. Then right click on “My Computer”
3. Select “Properties”
4. Select the “Advanced” tab
5. Then under the “Performance” tab select “Settings”
6. Click “Adjust for best performance”
7. Save these settings by clicking “OK”

How to disable the Indexing Service:
(Unnecessary default service, disabling will increase your performance)
1. Click your “Start” button to access the start menu

3. Under “Hard Disk Drives” right click on your Hard Disk
4. Click “Properties”
5. Uncheck “Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching”
6. Click “Apply”
7. Select “Apply changes to C:\ Subfolder and files” and click “OK”
8. If anything pops up on the screen simply click “Ignore”

Step 3: Uninstall unused software and programs that you don’t really need. Click Start, then Control Panel, Add Remove Programs. Now there will be a list pop up of all the software installed on your computer. Simply uninstall unused programs by clicking the uninstall button beside the unwanted software.

This will help free up hard drive space and help increase your overall system performance.

Step 4: Make sure you have updated to the latest versions of windows for your computer. This is offered totally free by microsoft’s website WindowsUpdate.com. You can also follow the directions below to goto the windows update site.

2. Click “All Programs”
3. Look all the way on top and you’ll find a “Windows Update” or
“Microsoft update” button, then click the icon.

Get Backlinks to Your Website

How to Get Backlinks to Your Website

Your website’s page rank is dependent on a number of factors. Having “backlinks,” links to your website from other websites or blogs, will give your website a significant boost. Backlinks are the links that direct traffic to your web site from someone else’s site. The quality of the backlink is judged by the popularity and relevancy of the site from which it originates. Each backlink that exists can give more credibility to your website. Therefore, the more quality backlinks that exist to your site, the higher page ranking it will reach in the search engines.

Paying for backlinks could end up costing you a fortune, especially if you make reoccurring payments to keep them active. Many companies who offer paid backlinks are not favored by Google and could end up getting your site penalized and out of Google’s favor, as well. Let’s look at a few ways to get free backlinks that are worth the time and energy you will put into getting them.

The first thing to look at is your website content. Do you have something worth linking to? Quality content or useful tools will always lead to better backlinks. If you are providing information that is worth linking to, you will have a much easier time acquiring free relevant backlinks. It takes time to build valuable content and pinpoint what drives your traffic, but once you have it, you’ll be amazed at the great links you earn.

Don’t forget to use your own websites and blogs as a resource. If you only have one website, it is recommended that you create other mini sites or blogs that you can use to support traffic to your main site. You can create multiple free backlinks within them. This is a perfect place to start. Just be careful not to overdo it. Google will pick up on you if you do too many too fast. Also, be sure to vary your anchor text.
Probably the most common and effective way to get free backlinks is to submit your content or url to search engine directories. The most economical way to do this is to purchase an automated submission service such as www.vodahits.com. The onetime expense is certainly worth it.

Writing articles is another excellent way to circulate your link. Stay on topic, include your backlink, and submit your articles to relevant websites. This method allows you to not only remain in control of the content in which your link is found, but you can also handpick the most valuable websites yourself. If you submit them to an article directory, make sure that they are categorized according to their theme.

Have you checked out your competition lately? Do some investigating. See where their links come from and solicit those websites for yourself. Some may want money or require an application, but you’re bound to gain a few more worthy links. It doesn’t hurt to ask.

Finally, always put our link in your online signature. Whenever you post on forums or message boards, this link will provide another connection to your site. You will be surprised at how many of those links actually stick and make a difference.

Getting quality backlinks takes time. You will need to invest some time on a regular basis to create a rich network of backlinks. Use these tips to ensure you are spending your time wisely. By steering clear of any unethical practices you will enjoy the rewards of quality traffic and earn your website a secure, aggressive page ranking.

The utility that we will use is called Virtual Clone Drive. This utility will let you mount .ISO, .CCD, .DVD, .IMG, .UDF and .BIN files. Download the utility and start the setup process.
How to mount an ISO image in Windows Vista
Select Yes or OK at the hardware prompt and continue. You might have to restart your computer. Now you should be able to mount any ISO image by just double-clicking on the file. Note: If you are going to reinstall this utility, make sure you uninstall it first, or you'll BSOD yourself repeatedly.
This utility does not work on Windows Vista 64 bit edition.
Alternatives
Virtual CD-ROM (Microsoft) - This utility does not work in Windows Vista
MagicDisk - This is a nice, free utility, but it isn't very easy to install in Vista64.
Alcohol 52% - Free version of Alcohol 120, but it bundles a browser toolbar that they claim isn't spyware. It's unacceptable.
Daemon Tools - Well known tool, but the latest version installs spyware on your computer, and the old version doesn't work in Vista.
At this point, Virtual CloneDrive is by far my favorite free utility.

What is ISP?

ISP: It is a company that provides the Internet connections to the users. There are many ISP companies in each big city of each country of the world. You have to get an Internet connection from any ISP company of your local city to connect to the Internet.
What is ISP?

ISPs then connect to larger ISPs, and the largest ISPs maintain fiber-optic “backbones’ for an entire region. Backbones around the world are connected through fiber-optic lines, under Sea cables or satellite links. In this way, every computer on the Internet is connected to every -other computer on the Internet. The figure is shown below that shows how an Internet works.

The Brief History Of Internet

The Internet is the network of networks around the world. It is made up of thousands of smaller, national, regional, governmental, academic and commercial networks. It is a global network. Information can be communicated from one city (or country) to another through Internet. You can access information all over the work. More than two billion people around the world use the Internet daily for different purposes. For example, to communicate with other people around the world, access information and latest news around the world etc. The computers are the main components through which information can be electronically sent and received from one location to another. For this purpose, a special device called modem is also used with computer and then computer is attached with the telephone line. The modem sends and receives the information over telephone lines. You must have an Internet connection of any local ISP (Internet Service Provider) to share the information on Internet. The telephone lines, fiber-optic cables, satellite communications are the main media of communications that are used to connect to the Internet.

Today Internet is a global web of nearly one million computer networks. Internet host computers are connected to the Internet round the clock.
The Breif History Of Internet
Brief History of Internet

The Internet was started in 1969 by the defense department of USA. Later, it was handed over to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The DARPA launched the first Internet program. The DARPA established a network of 4 computers and named as ARPANet. The protocols (Software) that define the rules to exchange information between computers were created by DARPA.

The idea of computer networking soon became popular. Several universities & research organizations developed their own computer networks. They joined their networks to ARPANet. The ARPANet became the network of networks. This network of computer networks was named as Internet.

In 1986 the National Science Foundation (NSF), another federal agency of USA, established a network and named as NSFNet. It was established for academic purpose and was accessible to everyone. Later, it was expanded all over the country and large number of universities and research centers were connected to this network. The academic networks were established and all these were interconnected together to share the information. The way of connecting one network to another is termed as internetworking and “Internet” is also derived from internetworking. The NSF provided the connections for academic research centers only. After this many telecommunication companies established their own network backbones by using the same networking protocol as NSFNet used and also provided connections to private users. In 1995, NSF terminated its network on the Internet. Today, the Internet consists of many local, regional, national and international networks.

Network Backbone

The inner structure of the Internet works much like a transportation system. The main communication lines carry the heaviest amount of traffic on the Internet. These communication lines are referred to as Internet backbone. It can also be defined as:

The central structure or element of the network, which connects other elements of the network and handles the major traffic, is called the backbone. The backbone is a high-speed element. It is the major communication link that ties Internet servers across wide geographical areas.

How the Internet works?

It must be noted that there is no particular organization that controls the Internet. Different networks of private companies, government agencies, research organizations, universities etc. are interconnected together. You can say that the Internet is a huge collection of millions of computers, all linked together on a computer network. The network allows all of the computers to communicate with one another. A home computer may be linked to the Internet using a phone-line modem, DSL or cable modem that communicates to an Internet Service Provider (ISP). A computer in a business or university will usually have a network interface card (NIC) that directly connects it to a Local Area Network (LAN) inside the business. The business can then connect its LAN to an ISP using a high-speed phone line such as Ti Line. A Ti Line can handle approximately 1.5 million bits per second, while a normal phone line using a modem can typically handle 30,000 to 50,000 bits per second.

Explained Virus Details

On an extranet each connected company gives selected rights to the employees of one or more other companies to access its intranet.

How To Trace Mobile Numbers in India

(India Only)
With rapid growth in mobile number subscribers in India and low call rates, most of calls we receive on our mobile are form other mobiles only. At the same time, to cater increasing userbase most operators come up with new series everyday which makes remembering a cell number increasingly hard. Also sometime we just want to trace a mobile number for reasons like unknown number in miss call list, to get hint of callers permanent location (sounds unlikely, I know…), etc.

But if you have a look at this wiki page, you can certainly trace any mobile number upto the level of its mobile operator and state (or zone) that’s too using first 4-digit only. It (wiki page) lists all mobile number series in nice tabular manner categorizing them according to mobile operator and state (or zone).
Like other wiki pages, this wiki also updated regularly and provide you almost latest information. I never got disappointed by it. I am using it from around a year.
If you prefer simpler interface where you can just enter your cell number and get the desired information, you can try this and this websites.
